Editorial policy
Eastern Movie Journal aims to be accurate, independent and clear about the difference between information, interpretation and opinion. We welcome corrections and explain how material is presented so readers can judge it for themselves.
Accuracy and context
We check names, titles, dates and other factual details against reliable available references before publication. Film interpretation is presented as analysis, not as a definitive account of a culture or a creator's private intentions. We revise material when a factual error or meaningful omission is identified.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for relevance to the publication and its readers. A commercial relationship does not buy a favourable review, a particular conclusion or control over editorial coverage.
Corrections
Readers can use the Contact page to flag a possible error, with the article title and the detail in question. We assess correction requests and make changes when warranted; substantial corrections are identified in the article.
Partners and illustrations
Paid or partner material is clearly labelled near the relevant content or placement, and kept distinct from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; these are identified where they appear, and are not presented as documentary film stills or archival evidence.
Every film carries a world of choices
Eastern Movie Journal looks beyond plot summaries to consider how films tell stories, shape images and reflect the screen traditions around them.
